The most prestigious media to report on the cruise in 2013 were Aardschok, Blick.ch, CNN, Lingener Tagespost, Metal Hammer, Rock Hard, Spiegel Online and Süddeutsche Zeitung.[7] Since 2013, Full Metal Cruise takes place in the Baltic Sea following a similar concept. To what extent the organizers were inspired by Tons of Metal is unclear. Located on the north coast of Jamaica, the town of Ocho Rios is adorned with beautiful golden beaches juxtaposed against its jungle-covered mountains. This backdrop allows for a myriad of unique excursions for guests to enjoy (including river rafting and tubing, swimming with dolphins, or exploring the Green Grotto Caves), relaxing on the beach, or a day enjoying Jamaican rum and local cuisine.
All of this with no VIP areas on board makes it feel like everyone has a backstage pass. If that’s not enough, festival goers even get a chance to explore a Caribbean dream destination with their favorite Artists. The festival will once again host 60 heavy metal bands spanning all subgenres and welcome 3000 metalheads from around the world. The second stop on MORC ‘24 is Nassau, who’s port just got an extensive $300 million makeover ‒ taking almost four years to complete.
Ocho Rios is famous for Dunn’s River Falls, Jamaica’s national treasure, where guests can spend the day scaling this spectacular waterfall or exploring its limestone rocks while relishing in the refreshing pools along the way. “With ten consecutive sellouts since the first voyage in 2011, this five-day, four-night Heavy Metal Music Festival and Caribbean vacation offers 3000 Metalheads the unique opportunity to mingle side-by-side with 60 world-class Heavy Metal bands. 70000 Tons of Metal 2018 featured 61 artists, performing 123 live concerts on board. 70000 Tons of Metal 2017 featured 61 artists, performing 123 live concerts on board.

“I started as a local promoter in Europe, then switched to a touring role. Then I was working for a tour/production/road manager for 15 years, and that eventually brought me to Vancouver. I totally had the idea and connections on how this could work, and I had been to most of the big European open-air festivals. The third voyage of Tons of Metal embarked from Miami, Florida on January 28, sailing toward Cockburn Town, Turks and Caicos Islands, to return on February 1.
